Advantages of the webcam:
good colour & quality video (but only if using USB SS input on computer) - camera does not seem to work with lower-speed USB input port
Disadvantages of the webcam:
1. apparently no ability to correct distortion of camera lens (when subject seated closer than 24") 2. quality video is good but only if / when using USB SS input on computer
Author’s comment:
tripod stand seems not to be sufficiently substantial - poor balance
