Webcam Test

Review #122319 about “Any Action Cam/Bootleg GoPro”

Webcam: Any Action Cam/Bootleg GoPro
Rating: Average (3 out of 5)
Date:

Advantages of the webcam:
-Connects through USB to a Windows PC -30-60 FPS depending on your camera -Lighting can typically be changed via the settings within the camera itself

Disadvantages of the webcam:
-Typically Micro USB (I'd be surprised if it was USB-C) -Usually locked at 720p, although most of the cameras are capable of higher resolutions -Compatibility varies, most will connect with PC or Mac, however Linux and ChromeOS are usually not options

Author’s comment:
It'll work for work calls (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, etc.) and Discord, but this isn't recommended for streamers. Quality can vary, but the ones I tested didn't seem super high quality. If you're a streamer on a budget and you have one of these, go ahead and use it. But unless you plan on using it for its original purpose and the webcam feature as a double, just buy a webcam that's similarly priced, like a Logitech C720.
