Advantages of the webcam:
Good picture quality, follows conversations very well, especially for collaborations with many participants present along with many participants remote. Also, the picture quality is superb for focusing on just one person in it's lecture or 1-person webcam modes.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
During the first couple minutes of a meeting it is learning and won't follow the conversation all that well at first. It catches on quickly, however. Just have your meeting and let it run.

Get a microfiber cloth and lens cleaning solution to clean the lens with so that smudges from handling do not hamper the image quality. Also, turn the volume of the speaker down to the minimum needed for people to hear OK. The built-in amp is pretty powerful.
