Advantages of the webcam:
Good low light performance without much noise. Exposure settings need tweaking with a mixture of strong light sources and shadow. Good fixed focal point. Very wide angle. Crisp 1080p signal and very quick aperture/shutter response - fluid motion even with fast movements. Skin tones are quite good. Dual microphone array of usable quality and frequency response.

Disadvantages of the webcam:
Moving cable can cause disconnects. Perhaps too wide in some settings. Colours can need adjustment in third party software (e.g. CamooZ/Skype). No drivers so camera does not recall any settings. Under or over exposed when seated below strong artificial light resulting in a lack of mid tone / medium shadow detail.
