Advantages of the webcam:
Inexpensive, small, works ok for work meetings, auto light adjustment, worked on MacBook OOB
Disadvantages of the webcam:
Not great quality image, but good for the price. Wouldn't use it for filming videos.

I've used the camera for 3 years with no problems. I've never used the mic on it, so can't comment on that.
