Advantages of the webcam:
cheap, clear, easy to use. Picture quality great.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
Only about 3 years old. Sound just failed a few days ago. Extremely fuzzy, so much that can't hear clearly at all. Audacity stereo recording shows that channels differ, one has speech almost understandable but other channel is hopeless. But even the better channel is not clear, and my voice sounds completely different. This came to light as I am using Zoom for meetings nearly every day for past 2 months.

I presume it's a webcam error but it's possibly the computer. I'll try borrowing a webcam to check.
