Advantages of the webcam:
I like have the USB cam since my laptop is to my left of where I sit and everyone would get a good look into my ear. I hang it off my primary 4k monitor.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
It's got a very large viewing area, so when I whiteboard it's good but if it's just on me there is a lot to blur our. Some conferencing applications don't make it very intuitive to where the blur feature is, so everyone can see my cool messy dtuff.
