Review #197145 about “Integrated Camera”
Author: A.Tharun
Webcam: Integrated Camera
Rating: Excellent (5 out of 5)
Date:
Advantages of the webcam:
Built-in Microphone: It includes a built-in microphone, eliminating the need for a separate audio input device for video calls. Integrated LED Lights: The device features LED lights with a manual switch to enhance visibility during calls, especially in low-light conditions (night vision feature). Ease of Use: It is a plug-and-play USB device, often requiring no driver installation on compatible operating systems like Windows 8. Compact and Adjustable Design: The webcam is lightweight (95g), compact, and has an adjustable base for easy positioning on laptops or monitors. Adequate 480p Performance: According to one user review on Amazon, at 480p resolution, the image is acceptably sharp, focused, and has decent light balance, performing well at that setting.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
Questionable HD Quality: Despite being advertised as an HD (720p) camera, some users report the video quality appears upsampled and is not true 720p resolution, with one review claiming it to be closer to 480p. Low Frame Rate at HD: When attempting to use the 720p resolution, the frame rate can drop significantly (as low as 4-6 frames per second in one test), making the video appear laggy, far below the claimed 24fps. Connectivity/Software Issues: A significant issue noted by some users is the need to unplug and re-insert the USB cable for the webcam to be recognized again after closing an application or changing settings. Basic Audio Quality: The audio performance is basic, lacking features like virtual surround or enhanced sound formats. Minimal Interface: The accompanying interface and firmware are minimal, offering basic usability. Packaging Concerns: At least one customer mentioned that the product packaging was poor, giving an impression of a locally sourced item rather than a branded one.
