Advantages of the webcam:
easy to set up and use, comes with a long cord incase the connected device is far. Comes with a privacy cover.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
performs pretty bad under even a little loss of light, often making the 1080p claim feel not true.

For a 23$ webcam (amazon price), i dont think its worth.
