Advantages of the webcam:
The first thing you notice is you have a very wide and tall view of your room, and your face is small. If you select HD, your face becomes even smaller. This allows more people into your camera view. You can adjust the focus manually. I do not know if it has auto focus on it. I did not have to adjust focus though, it was already in focus for me out of the box. You can set it up on top of a laptop, monitor, or a desk / table. I easily set mine up on a very thin screen of a laptop. It has microphones but I never actually tested them because I already had an external microphone. I used this video cam on Windows 10. It connected immediately using plug and play to a laptop. I would highly recommend it.
