Webcam: Xiaomi/Imilab W88 S (CMSXJ22A)

Advantages of the webcam:
It's cheap. If it really is made by Xiaomi, you can probably trust the build quality (although there's no branding on the camera or box, so I'm sceptical).

Disadvantages of the webcam:
Ghosting on contrasting edges. It's fixed focus and needs to be set back fairly far from the subject. If it does have a full HD sensor, it's the cheapest known to man. I suspect however that it actually has a lower resolution sensor and is being upscaled in hardware using interpolation. Perhaps I've been spoilt by the mic in my Logitech webcam, but this one sounds muffled and the audio level is very low in comparison.

Costing around £30, this is a sign of the times. Normally I'd expect this to be half the price but with everyone working from home we have to take what we can get. It does the job adequately.
