Advantages of the webcam:
Its basically just a PCB the size crayon taken from a salvage laptop (2008ish model mac book pro). Can be put in custom case, 3d printed project box, taped to your monitor, ect.. It definitely serves it's purpose.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
Requires basic wiring and soldering skills. components are exposed if you don't enclose it somehow. Camera only no mic. Only .31 MP 640x480 resolution.

I use it for quick video calls and sometimes on discord. It's an excellent use for something that would have been garbage otherwise but it's not an impressive camera by any means.
