Advantages of the webcam:
The web cam, simple as it is does what it's been designed to do. And thankfully it works on my console. It appears to have a built in microphone, but I don't think this test site offers audio feedback in some fashion to let the user know that it is functioning.
Disadvantages of the webcam:
There are options that are not accessible to change the way the camera functions.

I was slightly surprised that it worked in the browser on the console. I wish that the site would offer some sort of indication that the built-in microphone was working or not. I get that it might create a feedback loop, but non-audio indication would be great.
